This novena honors our Guardian Angels, the heavenly spirits assigned by God to watch over each person from birth. The feast is October 2.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Holy Guardian Angel, my constant heavenly companion, I call upon you with love and gratitude. You who have watched over me since the first moment of my existence, intercede for me before the throne of God.
From the moment of your creation, God assigned to you a guardian angel — a pure spirit, radiant with divine light, whose sole mission is to protect, guide, and accompany you on your journey to heaven. This is not a pious legend but a truth of the Catholic faith, rooted in Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition.
"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways." — Psalm 91:11
The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches that from infancy to death, human life is surrounded by the watchful care and intercession of angels. Your guardian angel knows you intimately — more intimately than any human friend. He sees your struggles, rejoices in your victories, and weeps over your sins. He is God's personal gift to you — a living sign of the Father's love for each of His children.
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of my Guardian Angel. I have so often ignored this faithful companion, this protector You placed at my side. Open my eyes to the reality of angelic presence. Help me to acknowledge, honor, and cooperate with the angel You have given me.
Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. I thank you for your ceaseless vigilance. Help me to be worthy of your care. Through your intercession, bring my prayers before the throne of the Most High. Amen.
Holy Guardian Angel, gift of the Father's love, continue to watch over me with tender care. Present my intentions to God during this novena, and guide me ever closer to heaven. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Holy Guardian Angel, pray for me!
