This novena honors Our Lady of Fatima, who appeared to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal in 1917 with messages of prayer, penance, and conversion.

Our Lady of Fatima Novena - Day 1

Our Lady of Fatima Novena - Day 1

Opening Prayer

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O Most Holy Virgin Mary, Queen of the Rosary and Mother of Fatima, you came from heaven to reveal God's plan for peace. We place ourselves under your mantle and beg your intercession for the world and for our own needs.

The Angel of Peace

"My God, I believe, I adore, I hope, and I love You! I ask pardon of You for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope, and do not love You." — Prayer of the Angel of Fatima

Before the apparitions of Our Lady, an angel appeared three times to the three shepherd children of Fatima -- Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta. He identified himself as the Angel of Peace and the Guardian Angel of Portugal. He taught them to prostrate themselves on the ground in prayer and adoration.

The Angel prepared the children's hearts for what was to come. He taught them the importance of sacrifice and reparation for sins committed against God. The Eucharistic prayer he taught them remains one of the most powerful prayers given to the Church in modern times, calling us to believe, adore, hope, and love.

Prayer

O Mary, Queen of Peace, just as the Angel prepared the children of Fatima, prepare our hearts to receive your message. Teach us to pray with reverence and to make reparation for sins against the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. Grant us the grace we seek (mention your intention), and send your angels to guard and guide us on the way of holiness.

The Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Closing Prayer

O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I adore You profoundly. I offer You the most precious Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifference by which He is offended. Through the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg the conversion of poor sinners. Amen.

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.
