The Novena to Saint Joseph the Worker is prayed April 23 - May 1, ending on the feast of Saint Joseph the Worker. It honors his faithful labor and asks his intercession for sanctification of our daily work.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
O Glorious Saint Joseph, model of all who labor, obtain for us the grace to work in the spirit of penance for the expiation of our many sins; to work conscientiously, putting our duty before our inclinations; to work with gratitude and joy, considering it an honor to employ and develop the gifts received from God. Amen.
(Mention your intention.)
Our Father... Hail Mary... Glory Be...
"Is not this the carpenter's son?" (Matthew 13:55)
Jesus chose to be known as the son of a carpenter. In the hidden years of Nazareth, the Son of God labored beside Saint Joseph at the workbench. Through this, God forever sanctified human work. No honest labor is beneath dignity, for Christ himself hallowed it.
Saint Joseph, you taught the Son of God to work with his hands. By your example, you show us that work is not a curse but a participation in God's creative power. Help us to see every task — however humble — as an offering to the Creator.
O Saint Joseph the Worker, you who labored faithfully to provide for the Holy Family, help us to embrace our daily work as a path to holiness. May we find God in our labor, serve others through our efforts, and offer each day's toil as a prayer. Through your intercession, obtain for us patience in difficulty, diligence in duty, and joy in service. Amen.
Saint Joseph the Worker, pray for us. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.
