Opening Prayer

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O God, you gave St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, Capuchin priest, the great privilege of participating in a unique way in the Passion of your Son. Grant me through his intercession the grace of (mention your intention), which I ardently desire. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Humble Capuchin

Francesco Forgione entered the Capuchin order at the age of fifteen, taking the name Brother Pio. He embraced a life of radical poverty, obedience, and prayer. In the humble friary of San Giovanni Rotondo, this simple Capuchin friar would become one of the most extraordinary saints of the twentieth century.

"He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does the LORD require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?" — Micah 6:8

Padre Pio's humility was the foundation of his sanctity. Despite receiving extraordinary mystical gifts, he considered himself the least of God's servants. He once said: "I am a mystery to myself." His humility teaches us that true greatness is found in smallness before God.

Prayer

Dear St. Padre Pio, humble Capuchin friar, you who hid your extraordinary gifts beneath a cloak of simplicity, teach me to seek nothing but God's will. Help me to embrace humility in all things and to find joy in serving without recognition. Intercede for me especially for (mention your intention). Amen.
