O God, who raised up St. Teresa of Avila by your Holy Spirit to show the Church the way of perfection, grant that we may always be nourished by her heavenly teaching and inspired by her ardent desire for true holiness. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Doctor of Prayer
St. Teresa of Avila is one of the Church's most beloved Doctors of the Church and is recognized above all as a Doctor of Prayer. In her writings -- The Interior Castle, The Way of Perfection, and her Autobiography -- she mapped the landscape of the spiritual life with an honesty and depth that has guided souls for centuries.

Teresa taught that prayer is not about techniques or formulas but about relationship. It is a conversation with God, a mutual exchange of love between Creator and creature.
