Refund Policy

My Prayer Companion (the "Service") is operated by Infinite Apps, a sole-proprietor digital products company registered with the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (Kamer van Koophandel) under KVK number 42057509, registered office at Graan voor Visch 15707, 2132 EM Hoofddorp, the Netherlands.

This Refund Policy explains when refunds are and are not available for purchases made through the Service. It is intended to comply with the European Union Consumer Rights Directive (Directive 2011/83/EU) as implemented in Dutch law (Boek 6, Burgerlijk Wetboek, Art. 230o et seq.) and applies to all customers worldwide.

1. Virtual Candles

Virtual candles (Votive Candle, Standard Candle, Premium Candle, Special Occasion Candle, Paschal Candle, etc.) are digital content delivered without a tangible medium. They are consumed instantly upon being lit at the virtual shrine.

By completing your purchase you give your prior express consent for performance to begin immediately, and you acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal under Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU and the corresponding provisions of Dutch law (Art. 6:230p sub g BW).

Virtual candle purchases are therefore non-refundable once the candle has been lit and the lighting has been recorded against your account.

If a virtual candle has been purchased but has not yet been lit because of a verifiable technical fault on our side, you may request a refund or replacement by contacting support@myprayercompanion.org within 30 days of the purchase.

2. Donations

Donations made through the Service are voluntary, non-reciprocal contributions and are not refundable. Because no goods or services are exchanged in return for a donation, the EU 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply.

If you believe a donation was made in error (for example, a duplicate transaction caused by a payment-processor fault), please contact support@myprayercompanion.org within 14 days of the transaction. We will review the case and, where the error is verified on our side, issue a refund as a goodwill gesture.

3. Premium Unlock (one-time purchase)

Premium Unlock is a one-time, non-consumable purchase that immediately removes advertising and grants access to additional features (offline audio, premium candles).

Premium Unlock is digital content delivered without a tangible medium. By completing your purchase you give your prior express consent for performance to begin immediately, and you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal under Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU from the moment access to the premium features is granted. Premium Unlock is therefore non-refundable once activated on your account.

If activation fails because of a verifiable technical fault on our side and we cannot deliver the unlock, you are entitled to a full refund.

4. Future Subscription Products

Where we offer (or may in the future offer) products that take the form of a recurring subscription, the European 14-day right of withdrawal applies. You may cancel any new subscription within 14 days of the initial purchase. Where you have used the subscription during the cooling-off period, we will refund the price minus a proportional amount for the period during which the service was used, calculated on a daily basis (Art. 14(4)(a) of Directive 2011/83/EU; Art. 6:230s BW).

Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store are governed by those stores' own refund policies. Refund requests for store-mediated purchases must be submitted directly to Apple or Google.

5. Repeat Refund Requests

We reserve the right to decline refund requests in cases of suspected abuse — for example, repeat purchase-and-refund cycles within a short period intended to obtain free use of the Service. This does not limit any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.

6. How to Request a Refund

We aim to respond within 5 working days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 14 days of approval.

7. Statutory Rights

This policy does not affect any rights you may have under applicable mandatory consumer protection law that cannot be waived. If any clause of this policy is found to be inconsistent with such mandatory law, that clause shall be read down to the extent necessary to comply, and the remainder of the policy shall continue in full force.
